As you probably know from facebook, I am officially "in the family way," as my late great Grandma Thelma would say. We found out a little over a week ago, the day before we came home from D.C., so my sweet brother Matt and his (also sweet) girlfriend Erin were the first to know. :) It was very cool getting to share that experience with them.
I know it's early, and most people wait to announce it until they're three months along and know the sex of the baby, but holy cow. There was no way I could wait that long. I've wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember, and no way was I waiting two more months to share the good news. Although I do have to admit one thing...it was a little weird posting that pic of Little Baby Bean With a Heartbeat for all the facebook world to see. I mean, because if you think about it, I'm showing everyone my inner lady parts, and it's a little strange to think about. Like I can see the following scenario happening now: I'll be walking down the street and see a facebook friend and smile and wave at them, all the while thinking to myself, "Huh. He/she's seen my uterus. I wonder if, compared to other uteruses, it's a good-lookin' one? Yeah, probably." And then I'll continue on down the street, just me and my hot uterus and Little Baby Bean With a Heartbeat, feeling awesome.
And being pregnant is gonna give me a whole slew of new gross things to blog about, so I'm pretty excited about that. Except I won't blog about all of them, because some things you just don't need to know. But if you're one of my close friends or family, let me just go ahead and apologize to you right now, because you're gonna get to know waaaay more gross details than you probably care to. :-D
One more thing: pregnancy hormones. So far, I've just cried a lot. I'm kinda hoping I turn into a bitchy monster though, because I think that'll be kinda funny. Not for Jesse, (or our close friends and family), but hey, at least it'll only last nine months, right? Or...seven and a half...because I haven't been any more bitchy than normal so far. And don't you dare argue otherwise. ;)
... and I'm SO looking forward to hearing about all of it!! Yay for you guys! I'm so happy for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI love you so much! Your going to make such a beautiful mother!!! I can't wait to see your belly grow and hear about all your new and fun experiences. The first time u feel her move, the first time Jesse can feel her kick. It's so amazing. The most amazing feeling you will ever feel is when you hear them cry for the first time and see this amazing miracle you both created!!! And yes I said a she because its Emma jaci grace in your good looking uterus ;) Congrats to you both again!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to meet Trixie.
ReplyDeleteAbby, I'm so excited for you! Pregnancy is a trip for sure! Just relax and enjoy the ride and just remember that it's kinda like Oklahoma weather... just when you think you can't take one more minute of nausea, back ache, kicks, etc.... it all changes and that particular discomfort is gone and in its place will be something new to bitch about. Laugh. A lot. I did and I'm pretty sure all of those endorphins carries through the umbi and made the sweetest, smiliest, happiest baby P. Lastly, know that people, perfect strangers even, will say the oddest and most inappropriate things to you. It's ok to tell them to f*off. Enjoy the beginning of motherhood!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI won't disappoint you, Keri. :-D
ReplyDeleteJaci, you are so sweet! I can't wait to experience all those things you talk about, feeling the baby kick and move, and especially hearing it cry for the first time. I'm so excited!
Trixie...I don't think so, Buttface. The sad thing is, Jesse's dad would probably really love that name, because it's country. Haha
Natalie, I'll remember your advice to laugh a lot. I try to do that anyway, so I hope I have a really happy baby! And I will definitely not be afraid to tell people to F off. :-D
Omg Omg Omg yay abby I'm soooooooo frikin excited for you can wait to read more woo Hoo awesome!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, David and I are going to start trying soon so in preparation I thought I'd look up all the information I could about childbirth and pregnancy and whatnot.
ReplyDeleteDo you KNOW how many gross details there are?!
Google "mucus plug" I dare you!
Oh my gosh, Heather!!!! That is SO EXCITING!!!! Um, but yes. You're right. There are SO MANY disgusting things about pregnancy. It's like your vagina has always had two personalities, but you've only ever seen one, and now the evil one is coming out. Read Jenny McCarthy's "Belly Laughs." She goes into great detail about all the fun things that happen to you during pregnancy and childbirth. I have to say...parts of that book (childbirth) scared the crap outta me, but oh well. It's like you're on a crazy, scary roller coaster ride, and the only way off of it is to stay on it till the end. And scream your face off along the way. lol
